"Those who cross the border of Bulgaria may import or export an unlimited amount of money in cash or in the form of monetary instruments in bearer on the declaration or without a declaration, depending on the amount. In cases when a passenger import or export an amount exceeding 10 000 euros, its exact value, origin, transport route and the vehicle, which will import the money must be declared."

In the case when the removal of funds from Bulgaria exceeding BGN 25,000 (or their equivalence in foreign currency) at the customs should be presented a certificate from the National Revenue Agency that the person has no outstanding tax liabilities, with the ID number are entered in the currency customs declaration. Local individuals and identification certificates issued by the territorial office of the National Revenue Agency at a fixed place of residence of the person, and foreign individuals - by Territorial Service of the National Revenue Agency at the last location of the person in the country.

 

"Foreign individuals can take out funds exceeding BGN 25,000 without approval of the National Revenue Agency after they are declared in the customs declaration, if the value of exported money does not exceed the cost of already imported and declared at the last entry of persons into the country, it is necessary to prove, by presenting the previous currency customs declaration of imports. "

 

As for the certain goods and products, passing customs, foreign citizens mostly are interested in how many cigarettes or other tobacco products are allowed to import for personal use.

 

"Any passenger of age more than 17 years is entitled to import the following quantities of tobacco products:
- 200 cigarettes for air passengers and 40 pieces for all the other passengers;
- 50 cigars for passengers and 10 pieces for all the other passengers;
- 100 cigarillos for passengers and 20 pieces for all the other passengers;
- 250 grams of tobacco smoking for passengers and 50 grams for all the other passengers."
